Watering
Water 2–3 times a week during the growing season, or when the plant is in direct light or partial shade. Water more frequently in warm weather and bright light, and less frequently in cooler temperatures. Avoid over-watering at night.
Sunlight
Adenium plants need 2–3 hours of direct sunlight indoors and 5–6 hours outdoors. In low light, the plant may grow long and spindly, and its blooms may be less vibrant.
Soil
Adenium plants can grow in sandy loam soil or cocopeat potting mix. Avoid clay soil.
Fertilizer
Apply a water-soluble organic fertilizer once a month around the plant. Don't add fertilizer until the plant has been in the pot for 2–3 months.
Pot
Use a wide pot or container with good drainage, such as a ceramic or heavy clay pot. Make sure the container's drainage holes aren't blocked.
Pests
Snails and slugs can chew holes in the leaves and flowers. Sprinkle snail pellets in the pot to control them. Mites are tiny spider-like creatures that can damage the leaves. Spray the plant with a miticide to control them.
Pruning
Trim back long shoots and cut off damaged parts, making clean cuts just above a leaf node or junction. Wear gloves to avoid the plant's poisonous milk sap.
